Terms and Conditions for the UK and Europe

Acceptance of Web Orders

Acceptance by Us

Orders submitted through the website checkout and acknowledged by email are held on our system ready for acceptance when reviewed by our staff. We may need to make additional enquiries concerning requirements, delivery dates addresses or payment terms before orders that have been submitted are accepted as confirmed orders. Where payment by debit or credit card is requested, payment is applied when the order is placed on the system.

Cancellation by You

Any order placed on the web site can be cancelled by you within one hour of placing the order, by sending an email to sales@hfltd.com, stating ‘Cancellation’ or ‘Please Cancel’, and quoting the sales order number. Replying to the acknowledgement email with the word ‘cancel’ is effective for this purpose. Most orders, especially those placed outside normal office hours can be cancelled after one hour, but we cannot guarantee not have started processing orders after one hour has elapsed. Where payment has been made this will be refunded using the same method as the payment.


Methods of Payment

By Account

Existing account customers by 30 days net. If you wish to open an account please contact our sales team at head office on 0845 450 5593.

By Debit or Credit Card

We accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Master Card and Switch. Payments are securely processed using facilities provided by Secure Trading Ltd.

By Cheque

We accept cheques drawn on a building society or bank in the UK.

Directly into our bank account

Bank details will be issued upon request for this method of payment.

Pro Forma Invoice

For new customers or if requested as a preferred method of payment.


Delivery Charges

UK Mainland

All orders (excluding furniture and chairs) over the value of £150 including vat will be packed and delivered for a minimal charge of £3.50 with in UK mainland using standard 48 hour carrier. For orders under the value of £150 including vat, carriage charges will apply. Our standard carriage charge applies to single parcels that weigh less than 25kg, these goods will be sent by 48 hour carrier at a charge of £8.50 per delivery.

Our minimum postage charge is £3.50 and this will be applied to any items that are suitable in size and weight to be sent via post.*

Large, bulky or heavy items will be quoted to the customer at point of order.

Delivery charges outside UK mainland

Please note that Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, The Channel Isles and the Highlands of Scotland may incur higher carriage charges due to their locations, confirmation of carriage charges should be requested prior to placing an order.

Next Day or Express Deliveries

Weight and size restrictions apply to this service. For stocked items that are of a suitable size and weight to be sent on a next day carrier service, a standard charge of £10 will apply*

Overseas Delivery

We recommend that customers who wish goods to be despatch overseas should request a quotation of carriage charges prior to confirmation of an order.

Pricing and Vat

All prices listed in the website are shown in £ sterling.

All prices are inclusive of vat where applicable. 

All prices are exclusive of carriage charges.


Insurance on renovation work in the UK

Whilst every precaution is taken to ensure the safe keeping of goods entrusted to us for renovation, it is recommended that the customers should take out an All Risks insurance policy covering valuable items which is effective during the transportation and renovation period.


Goods on approval

We do not encourage goods being sent on approval due to the large proportion of items returned marked or damaged. By arrangement goods can be viewed at our showroom based in Liverpool, or alternatively where possible we will arrange our area sales representatives to bring high value items to you. This service will be by appointment only and if goods are in stock.

Our Regional Sales Managers are happy to make appointments to visit customers to offer advice on refurbishment projects. Please contact our sales team on 0845 450 5593 to discuss this in more detail.



Hayes & Finch Ltd. reserve the right to alter specification of designs without prior notification. All dimensions and sizes of designs featured are approximate. Prices are subject to change without prior notice, however once an order has been accepted, the price quoted at the time of ordering will remain static.


Guarantees and Liabilities

Hayes & Finch Ltd. warrants that all goods featured in the website will meet with their specification and be free from flaws in workmanship of material, subject to the following conditions: Hayes & Finch will not be liable,

  • If the total invoiced amount for the goods has not been cleared by the due date
  • In respect of failure to follow instructions, negligence or wilful damage
  • Misuse or alteration.

Should goods be faulty Hayes & Finch Ltd will either replace the goods free of charge, rectify the fault, or by discretion refund the price of the goods, Hayes & Finch Ltd. shall then have no further liability.

Hayes & Finch Ltd. shall not be liable for any loss or damage whether direct or consequential or otherwise. In the event Hayes & Finch’s liability if any shall be limited to the price of the goods.

Nothing in these terms affects Hayes & Finch’s liability for death or personal injury resulting from Hayes & Finch’s negligence.

Your statutory rights are not affected by these terms.
