James Finch dies

A factory is opened in Dublin to supply to Churches in Ireland
1901
The company moves to a purpose built factory in
Vernon Street Liverpool
1905
Hayes & Finch was incorporated and became a limited company
1910
Sales office in London, Glasgow and Manchester are opened
1914
World War 1 begins the company continues to trade at a slower pace due to lack of staff and raw materials.
1920
Thomas Finch (James son enters
the business) as general manager
1923
Mr Hayes dies and Thomas purchases the business interests from his widow
1930 - 1936
Thomasʼ three elder sons enter the business
1938
The onset of world war 11 - Thomasʼs 3 sons and many staff are conscripted into the armed forces to support the war effort
1938 - 1945
The company continued when suppliers were available, supplying not only to the church but for government contracts to support the war effort
1943
Dublin factory closed due to the war and lack of raw materials
1945
Thomasʼ 3 sons returned from the war and focused on developing the business
1948 - 1952
Thomasʼs three youngest sons entered the business
1950
Hayes & Finch expands its service with a an in house workshop and vestment department Image of silversmiths

Sales offices in Newcastle and Dublin were opened
1968 - 1975
Chairman of the company Denis Finch Thomasʼs elder son becomes chairman of the company
1969
The factory moves again to Aintree (current site)
1971
H&F Tracery cabinet makers begins making furniture for the church
1975 - 1984
Chairman of the company Michael Finch - Thomasʼs middle son becomes chairman
1981
H&F expands and purchases the adjacent site to their current factory
1984 - 1992
Chairman of the company Peter Finch, Thomasʼ younger son

H&F installs its first computer system to manage customer accounts

Modern automated machinery installed to improve candle manufacturing
